Local Attractions: Riviera del Sol, Costa del Sol, Spain sits on the coast midway between Marbella and Fuengirola. Riviera del Sol is situated only a few minutes from the new AP 7 motorway access, and the national coast road the A7 (formerly the N-340), allowing access to Malaga airport in 25 minutes. Riviera del Sol runs down to the beach and is adjacent to Calahonda.
Riviera del Sol is a mixed residential and holiday area enjoying every facility and services needed to enjoy life comfortably. Banks, restaurants, shops, supermarket, chemist and a health centre are all to hand.
Riviera del Sol has its own golf course, golf school tennis club, lawn bowls and numerous golf courses and many other sports facilities are within 10 minutes drive.
Bus routes lead to all areas and there are bus stops either side of the A7 (N340) main road going to Marbella and to Fuengirola. The new Costa del Sol Hospital is 10 minutes drive away. Nearby Puerto Cabopino provides mooring for boats and all water sports, as well as a lovely beach.
There are several small stores, restaurants, bar etc within easy distance of your apartment or villa. the shops are opposite a very peaceful and popular park (Princess Diana Park) and gardens. Also they just also built a new supermarket (Opencor) on the corner adjacent to the entrance to Riviera.
If you come off the roundabout in Riviera, drive along the Avda Polaris, for say 100 metres, you will come to Riviera Comercial. Here you will find a car hire company, bars and restaurants, a pharmacy, estate agent, reflexology, gifts and community administration.
Other facilities in Riviera del Sol include a laundry, clinic, car hire offices, taxi rank and also a bank with an ATM cash machine. Just next to Riviera del Sol is the Calypso urbanisation, which has a chemist, Barclays Bank and a petrol station (press the Union Jack button on the pump for instructions in English). Calahonda hosts a good range of shops in the El Zoco Shopping Centre,a 2/3 minute car ride from Riviera.
